Thanks for making TEDxSouthamptonUniversity 2013 Unforgettable


With a full day of talks and ideas worth spreading, TEDxSouthamptonUniversity 2013 was an enormous success. The day began with a bang and a rhino! The energy and intellectual alchemy continued late into the evening with stimulating debates on the theme Sustainability. Our expectations were far exceeded and we would like to thank our speakers, volunteers, staff as well as partners and sponsors- we couldn’t have done it without you! TEDxSouthamptonUniversity will welcome speakers to the University of Southampton on March 17th who are at the forefront of innovative research, policy developments and emerging debates towards tackling humanity's toughest questions on sustainability.
What is it that we want to sustain? What must we keep and what must we lose or exchange? What contributions can we make as individuals, teachers, parents, citizens?
The impressive speaker line-up includes a diverse range of private and public sector practitioners, researchers, artists and thinkers from the UK and beyond (Visit the Speakers page for full details).

IDEAS WORTH SPREADING

What is TEDx?


In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDx[name], where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDx[name] event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
